Just wanted to share a little something that I will be participating in THIS THURSDAY, MARCH 8th! I'm a little excited. It's a great cause... I hope I'll see some of you there!
Kayne Gillaspie to Participate in the
American Cancer Society’s Spring Bling Fling
Twenty gowns to be part of a special fashion show
(WICHITA, Kan.) – The American Cancer Society Spring Bling Fling will take place on March 8 at 5:30 pm at the new Courtyard by Marriott at Old Town.
This annual ‘girls night out’ event includes both a silent and live auction as well as a fashion show of 20 designs from a very special guest, Kayne Gillaspie, who recently appeared on BravoTV’s “Project Runway, Season 3.” Sierra Scott of “It’s all Good with Sierra Scott” will host the event. Tickets are $30 if purchased in advance and $35 at the door. Contact the American Cancer Society at 316.265.3400 or 1.800.478.4788 for tickets.
Gillaspie, is from Norman, Okla. He attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After graduation, he moved to Nashville and opened Kayne’s Clothing Boutique. This afforded him the opportunity to create custom ballroom dance costumes, eveningwear, and wardrobe for the country music industry.
In 2002, Gillaspie won the Critics Choice Award for evening wear.
In 2003, Gillaspie met his partner Warren and bought Southern Charm, an established formal wear and pageant store in Norman, Okla. Within three years, Gillaspie’s success in the pageant industry soared. In December of 2005, he dressed the entire top five teens and the winner and first runner up in the Miss Oklahoma U.S.A. pageant. In 2006, he dressed Miss Oklahoma in the U.S.A. pageant and she was wearing his design when crowned Miss U.S.A. in Atlantic City.
Gillaspie cites Bob Mackie and Roberto Cavalli as major influences on his work. His gowns encompass originality, attention to detail, and a young femininity with an edge.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see the remarkable designs of Kayne Gillaspie. Reserve your place today by calling the American Cancer Society at 316.265.3400 or 1.800.478.4788.
