Weather...

Can you believe the weather lately? It seems more like October than September!

I just wanted to pop in and talk a little about how the weather affects what I do. For example, this past Friday and Saturday, the cloud cover was extreme. This doesn't happen very often and luckily it's only happened a couple of times in the four years that I've had sessions schedule. Saturday was such a day. I had to move around all my sessions to different dates. Although my clients were great sports about it and never complained once, I truly hate to do this to them. They have blocked out a day and time from their busy schedules... and to have to do that again, is probably not the easiest thing to do. I greatly appreciate your flexibility!!!

To those who aren't sure why I would have to reschedule do to weather... well, I'm a natural light photographer. And although it can be done in cloudy, rainy and windy weather - not many clients want a portrait in those conditions. I use only the sun light that comes through the windows of the studio for my sessions - nothing extra - no flashes or light setups, not even the lights in the studio... just the sunlight. When the sun is completely hidden, as it was this past weekend, makes my job nearly impossible. (I won't say totally impossible, because it does lend to some wonderful moody images.)

So... when you go to bed the night before your session and it's been raining w/cloud cover all day and that's the same forecast for the following day - know that there's a chance we might have to reschedule. I'll do everything I can to follow through with the session, but there are times we will have to reschedule because of mother nature.

Thanks everyone and have a great week!!
